IT has ushered a new wave of change in the Indian Healthcare Industry. Better healthcare facilities, infrastructure and management inspire confidence among patients and have made hospitals like AIIMS, RGCI names to reckon with.
Tier II hospitals are fast following suit. Srishti being an HIS provider has worked with hospitals like Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute of India (RGCI), Center for Sight (CFS), Mahavir Cancer Sansthan. Last week we spoke about the importance of user adoption training to help hospital staff maneuver the IT system deployed by us. This week we graduate to the ‘LIVE’ stage. It involves the migration of the new application or system into a production environment. LIVE events are often high-stress situations with anxious end-users and an almost overbearing feeling of vulnerability and uncertainty that is shared between all parties. We asked our Vice President, Implementation, Haribabu for an insight on handling these LIVE events. He said the most critical part of implementation is end user participation. At Srishti we expose users to PARAS as early as the pre sales stage. We also conduct extensive user adoption training in the post implementation stage to ease the change that IT system is expected to bring.
HariBabu identifies certain issues that may surface to hamper the spirit of ‘Go Live’.
-
Insufficient pre-production application testing (to include parallel testing if replacing a legacy application).
-
Insufficient LIVE event planning.
-
Insufficient end-user participation in LIVE event.
